Haifaa AL MANSOUR 
Born in 1974, Saudi Arabia. She is the first female filmmaker in Saudi Arabia. The success of her three short films, as well as the international acclaim of her award-winning documentary [#i_]Women Without Shadows[_i#](2005) influenced a new wave of Saudi filmmakers. [#i_]Wadjda[_i#](2012), her feature debut, is the first feature film shot entirely in Saudi Arabia. The film received wide critical acclaim after its premiere at the 2012 Venice Film Festival.
