Born in 1961, Deux-Seevres. Laurent Cantet is very well known for The class which won Palme d'Or at 2008 Cannes. He had graduated IDHEC and entered the film industry as an assistant director of The Troubles We've Seen. He drew attention with his second feature Human resources which was introduced in 1st JIFF. His Time out brought him Don Quixote Award at 58th Venice Film Festival. He visits JIFF 2013, as a jury of Korean Film Competition and also as a director of opening film FOXFIRE.
