Born in 1947, Paris. He started film as an assistant of Bernard Borderie. Having been an assistant of many filmmakers, he made a lot of short films and TV series. Closet Children(1977) is his first feature and he directed several films such as A Single Girl(1995), The School of Flesh(1998), Sade(2000) and Diary of a Chambermaid(2015). Never Ever, his recent feature, is presented at Tokyo IFF and Toronto IFF.
