Review

This documentary film is about immigrant workers who live in Garibong-dong. The place is packed with desire, frustration and silence drawn by them. The camera lingers on them closely, but indifferently.

Born in 1961. Park Ki-yong graduated Seoul Institute of the Arts and Korean Academy of Film Arts. His first feature Motel Cactus (1997) won New Currents Award at Busan International Film Festival and FIPRESCI Award Special mention at International Film Festival Rotterdam. His second feature Camel(s) (2001) also intensively toured international film festivals. He also participated in Jeonju Digital Project 2003. Currently he is a professor of Dankook University’s Cinematic Content division.
