It is late summer of 1984. Taeseok is thrilled to see his uncle, a college student, who is visiting from Seoul, but his father calls his uncle a ‘commie’ and tells him to leave. The next day, a mysterious man wearing shades takes his uncle away as the allegiance to the national flag is heard.
