Outside Manila, next to the sea, the woods become a meeting place for people in filmmaking to show their own. It all becomes a moment when cinema finally doesn´t exist, only the celebration of our worldly bones and ephemeral memories.
A time travelogue. Film friends from different parts of the world gather in the Philippines, where they discover another space and time. There are the ruins of an island where our ancestors fought for freedom. There were also the ghosts of a house that once used to make silent films. Outside the city, the woods and sea become a meeting place for more people in cinema. It all becomes a celebration of what was left behind.
During a filmmaking hiatus, I discovered another kind of life with some of my film friends. That which exists outside the theaters, outside the festivals, and inside their homes and hearts. This reminded me strongly about the work I do, which always bleeds into my personal life. Cinema is not just about making movies, but how we make it. I invited my closest film friends to my home, and introduced them to my other film friends here. In life, time passes quickly. And everyday, the filmmaker decides to live or die.
