Born in 1948, Paris, France. In 1964, at his age of 16, his short film, Les Enfants Desaccordes, caught attention of film critics. He released his first feature debut film Anemone in 1966 and had made a number of avant-garde films with his longtime partner and a legendary singer Nico, who was a member of The Velvet Underground. He is currently teaching students at FEMIS and his recent work, Les Amants Reguliers, won the Silver Lion prize at Venice in 2005.
