International Competition

Davide OBERTO

Born in Alba Italy in 1970, he studied Philosophy, Human Sciences and Film History at the Università di Torino. In 1999 he starts the collaboration with the Torino Film Festival and becomes the curator of the Italian Competitions in 2005. He creates a new section devoted to international documentaries in the attempt of introducing films from a specific and cinematic perspective in Italy. 2002-2009 he's been a programmer of Turin GLBT Film Festival for which is edited several retrospectives. From 2015 he is co-director of Doclisboa.

Sarah ADLER

Born in 1978, France. A French and Israeli actress. She was nominated for European Film Award for Best Actress for her performance in Our Music(2004), and Ophir Award for Best Actress for her performance in Jellyfish(2007) which won the Cannes Film Festivals' Caméra d'or. Recently, she has collaborated twice with Amos Gitai in his films Ana Arabia(2013) and Tsili(2014). In 2017 she starred in The Cakemaker by Ofir Raul Graizer, and Foxtrot by Samuel Maoz. For those appearances she received the Press Forum prize for Best Israeli actress 2017.

PANG Eun-jin

Born in Seoul. She debuted as an actress and appeared in The Taebaek Mountains (1994), 301, 302(1995) and Farewell My Darling(1996) and has received the awards form the Blue Dragon Film Awards other more. Directed a short film Ain't no Maid(2004) and Her first feature film Princess Aurora(2005) received 2005 Korean Association of Film Critics Awards for Best New Director and also 2006 Golden Cinematography Awards for Best New Director. And then she directed Perfect Number(2012), Way Back Home(2013) and METHOD(2017).

KWON Hae-hyo

Kwon Hae-hyo started his career with the play 「The Good Woman of Setzuan」(1990). He was a member of Hanyang Repertory and made his debut in cinema with Myong-Ja Akiko Sonia(1992). He continued to build his career through Out to the World(1994) by The Real Man(1996) and Tie a Yellow Ribbon(1998). As a Korean renowned actor, he has performed actively in films, dramas, performances including his latest In Another Country(2012), C'est si bon(2015), Yourself and Yours(2016), Vanishing Time: A boy who returned(2016), and The Day After(2017).

Julietta SICHEL

Born in 1974. From 1995 she worked as a Programmer at the Karlovy Vary IFF and 2005-2010 she was the festival’s Program Director. She's been a member of many international juries at festivals, served as a curator of several film retrospectives and sections focused on Nordic, Russian and Asian cinema. For her maintaining interest in Korean Cinema, she received the Korean Cinema Award at the 16th Busan IFF. She started producing films in 2010, after founding her own production company, which focus on international coproductions and projects.

JUNG Ji-woo

Born in 1968. Having made a powerful feature directorial debut with Happy End(1999), he later directed Eungyo(2012), which dealt with youth and desires packaged in a beautiful visual poetry. He was widely praised for his directions in Fourth Place(2016). His audiences know him as a director who embeds sharp-edged messages in his films.

KIM Sang-kyung

Born in 1972. He is a South Korean actor. He is best known for his leading roles in Meomories of Murder(2003) and  May 18(2007). Two of his films directed by Hong Sang-soo, Tale of Cinema(2005) and Ha Ha Ha(2010), screened at the Cannes Film Festival. He has also starred in numerous television dramas, notably the period epic 「King Sejong the Great」(2008) and the family comedy 「What's with This Family」(2014).

KIM Dea-hwan

Born in 1985. Studied film at Dankook University. His debut feature, End of Winter(2014) was awarded New Currents Prize at Busan International Film Festival in 2014. In the following year, the same film was invited to Forum Section of Berlinale and won the Best Actress Award at the Sakhalin Film Festival. The First Lap(2017), KIM Dae-hwan's second feature and also the second piece of his 'Family Trilogy', was selected Jeonju Cinema Project at jeonju IFF and arwarded Best Upcoming Director at Locarno IFF in 2017

RYU Hyunkyung

Born in 1983. She made her acting debut in 1996 as the younger counterpart of the protagonist in the SBS TV series 「Oxtail Soup」 and has acted in TV series, movies, and plays. She won the Korea Gold Awards for Best Supporting Actress in 2016 and the Best Supporting Actress at University Film Festival of Korea in 2010. She majored in Department of Theater and Film at Hanyang University and directed short films such as Kwang-tae’s Basic Story(2009) and Heart Robber(2010).

Ted FENDT

Born in 1989, Philadelphia. He attended New York University. His films have screened internationally in film festivals including the Viennale, New Directors/New Films, Jeonju International Film Festival, Vancouver International Film Festival, IndieLisboa, and FILMadrid. Retrospectives of his work have been held at the Mar del Plata International Film Festival, Anthology Film Archives, and the George Eastman House.

NETPAC

HONG Sangwoo

Born in Seoul. Professor of Russian Language and Literature of Gyeongsang National University. He studied Russian Language in the Hankuk University of Foreing Studies and film studies in the Russian State Institute of Cinematography. Multiple jury member in various international film festivals, including NETPAC of the 34th Moscow International Film Festival, Tashkent International Film Forum of short films, International Competition of the 9th Almaty International Film.

KAN Lumé

Born in Singapore. His debut feature film The Art of Flirting(2005) used two non-actors, shot in 2 days and won Best ASEAN film at Malaysian Video Awards 2005. Third film Dreams from the Third World(2008) received the MovieMax Award at Cinema Digital Seoul 2008. Liberta(2013) picked up the NETPAC Award at Tripoli Film Festival 2013. The Naked DJ(2014) earned his second NETPAC award for Best Asian Film at Jogja-Netpac Asian Film Festival 2014.

SUNG Jihae

Born in Seoul in 1964. After majoring in film directing at Korean Academy of Film Arts, she received her Ph.D. in Film Studies from University of Paris 8. She directed feature films Before The Summer Passes Away(2007), The Grass Is Greener(2010) and An American Friend(2014). Also, she directed VR short films After the play is over(2017), I'm beautiful(2017) and a VR 3D short film She Left too(2018). She was interested in Chinese culture and movies and currently has been staying in Beijing as a visiting scholar of Beijing Film Academy-international of beijing film academy.
