The film bases on the assumption that the fiction does not very much far from the real, and that the language and the conventions in soap opera completely reflect the reality we are living. It is made up of seven episodes, all of which make a soap opera form of totally different class. Most of sequences are related to one another from a thematic perspective, and some characters appear in more than one episode. It suggests a surreal, poignant analysis of Chilean society just after the dictatorship of Pinochet, through a specific sarcasm such as the expression "If you act badly, you will become a Chilean in your next life". The film of the theatrical style was filmed in Chile in 1990 for six days but remained incomplete. Ruiz´s wife and co-producer, Valeria Sarmiento, started editing it in 2011, when her husband died and completed it a year later. [JANG Byungwon]
