[#i_]Toy Story[_i#] is a 3D feature animation produced in 1995. A cowboy doll named Woody is 6-year-old Andy’s favorite toy. Woody’s position is undermined by Buzz, an astronaut action figure that Andy gets for his birthday. The toys’ hierarchy is threatened and redefined by the arrival of new toys. Buzz thinks he is an actual space ranger. Woody plans to get rid of him at first but in the outside world they start helping each other. Buzz realizes that he’s not a real space range, and learns from Woody the true purpose of a toy. Based on the actual toys sold in the USA at the time, the film promotes American values by highlighting the generational characteristics of Woody and Buzz and their solidarity. This collaborative effort between Pixar and Disney is the first film in the [#i_]Toy Story[_i#] series. [LEE Sang-yong]
