"Movies lie, not sport.” Jean-Luc Godard´s saying summarizes [#i_]John McEnroe: In The Realm of Perfection[_i#]. This exciting documentary, exploring the relationship between cinema and sports, consists of anatomical images of tennis player John McEnroe´s matches. As a tennis player, Mackenro rise to fame as a flake. McEnroe was unique in his stance as well as tennis skills in the stadium. Gilde Kerme Maddz, a film director and tennis player, was fascinated by McEnroe and started shooting him, while watching the game. McEnroe´s movements, strokes in images excerpts from a variety of games including Paris Open and commentary on the composition of images by the film critic Serge Daney, all these are presented in various ways of combination in the film, which attracts the sport mania as well as cinephile.
