[#i_]Alive in France[_i#] is a documentary about Abel Ferrara´s small club tour with his band in France, October 2016, and also a self-portrait of the rebel artist Ferrara. He has two roles in the film. One is a musician in a jam session band where professionals and amateurs collaborated, and the other is a director of music-film documentary. Above all, he is the theme for the film. The film begins with Ferrara´s retrospective and music tours organized by Cinematheque Toulouse. He connects movies and music, joining with actress Cristina Chiriac and band members including Joe Delia and Paul Hipp. The sharp camera contains the jokes by Ferrara and musicians with psychedelic sound crossing Hip-Hop, Blues, and Rock. A multi-faceted portrait of artist uncompromising in American cinema, covering the theme of uncontrolled chaos in our time. [JANG Byungwon]
