Daphna and Michael as a couple, someone knocks on their door. Soldiers inform Daphna that his son Jonathan died in military service and confirm the same fact to her husband Michael. The information about the son´s death immediately defines the direction of the story that follows. Mourning and consolation. Why did Jonathan die? The parents are frustrated, and the cause of death gradually becomes clear.[#i_] Foxtrot [_i#]is Samuel Maoz´s second feature film after [#i_]Lebanon[_i#](2009). With only two films, Maoz is a great visual artist. In the elaborate audio-visual images, he presents the tension of the story, the alarm for a meaningless tragedy, and express the emotion of sorrow and anger. [#i_]Foxtrot[_i#] blends a monotonous realism with images that evoke the process of cinematic thinking and maximizes the function of structure and signification. [JANG Byungwon]
