On June 27th 1976, an airplane en route to Paris gets hijacked and detained at Entebbe Airport in Uganda. The hijackers hold the Israeli passengers hostage and demand the release of 12 Palestinian men and their supporters from imprisonment in Israel. Brazilian director Jose Padilha transfers this well-known terrorist attack onto the big screen. The production company, Working Title presents a more diverse and stereoscopic perspective of the incident that has already been adapted into films and dramas. The script forms a firm basis for the film’s structure, while the cast’s performance gives testimony as to the situation at the time where everyone fulfilled their roles in accordance with the state and their own beliefs. The film adds depth to the story by encompassing even the terrorists’ perspectives and emotions. [LEE Sang-yong]
