[#i_]Milla[_i#] is a life story revolving aroung the lives of two people. Milla and Leo in late 10s moves to a small town near the Englis Channel. Their lives looks simple but there is an upswell of the emotion. By showing that, the film describes the reality delicately. The developing way focusing on the reality and the face expression of the characters reminds Pedro Costa´s films. It takes the phase of the reality through showing the pregnancy and childbirth of Milla. At the end of the film, Milla teaches her son how to walk and brush the teeth. The film started with melancholy mood, but could be the hope to go forward. This film, one of the important films introduced through many film festivals in last year, shows how the reality and the film can meet properly. [LEE Sang-yong]

Director

Valerie MASSADIAN

She is a franco-armenian photographer and filmmaker. From her background in photography, she keeps the freedom and the rigor of the face to face. Her work concentrates on female characters. Their animality, how they relate to the world and nature. Nurtured by relationships built over time with each protagonist, her films play with the boundaries of fiction, redrawing their own.
