Maria, nicknamed ´Alanis´ from modern rock singer Alanis Morissette. She lives with a son named Dante who is 18 months old and her friend Gisela. When the house owner?locks Dante and her in the house, they are struggling to survive on the path that the territory, clique and various rules dominates. She is a stout-hearted single mother who engages in prostitution. Despite the desperate situation, she looks like a perfect person only at the moment with Dante and tries to preserve her dignity not to lower yourself. The exploration of character by Anahi Berneri is remarkable. The frequent shots with reflective surfaces of mirrors and windows make Mary´s space look impregnable. The fascinating image of Sophia Gala Castiglione, who plays with her own son in an innocent manner, offers a powerful force in the radical female-led drama. [JANG Byungwon]
