Independent filmmaker Travis Wilkerson has produced films that have questioned the malicious effects of capitalism on the American Dream over the past 20 years. In[#i_] Did You Wonder Who Fired the Gun?[_i#], he reveals the dark history of his own family to escape racism planted in his growing period. The film focuses on Wilkerson´s family and a small town Dothan in Alabama. His great-grandfather Branch, a notorious white supremacist, shot an African American Bill Span in the past. Branch was arrested but not paid for his crime, and the victim´s life was completely removed from public memory and records. "This is not the story about a white savior, but about a white nightmare", Wilkerson said. He presents a radical documentary as an essay with collage of strong beat music featuring political messages, declarative text, and negative film images. [JANG Byungwon]
