Kim Heesun is a high school student who lives with her father in poverty. She doesn’t want her classmates to find out about her situation at home, but one day her lunch money from the school gets delivered her namesake in the same class. The other Kim Heesun is an exemplary student from a middle-class family who is officially dating a boy named Donghun. Our protagonist Heesun resents that the other Heesun now knows about her family circumstances and that she is going out with Donghun whom she has a crush on. The story skillfully depicts an adolescent girl’s yearnings, complexes and sense of financial isolation. [JUNG Jiyoun]
