Fiore is a chaotic drama of teenagers; the subject often dealt with by Claudio Giovannesi. The theme of this coming-of-age film is fearless love. Daphne is sent to a youth detention center for theft. In the place ruled by regulation and prohibition, Daphne meets a boy named Josh, who is also there for theft. Though the contact between female and male is prohibited, they fall in love. They talk through windows and send letters to each other. Fiore is about the desire for love and the power of emotions beyond laws. The beautiful flowers bloomed in the hearts of the teenagers cannot be suppressed or controlled by rules. They go beyond the physical and systematic barrier with passion, love letters, and determination. Giovannesi talks about the emotion that makes us human in a realistic style, reminding of Jean-Pierre Dardenne & Luc Dardenne. [JANG Byungwon]
