Activist and comedian Russell Brand and director Michael Winterbottom attempt to reveal the core of the world’s financial crisis. In order to approach this, they use various mediums, genre and style to reflect on the inequality of wealth. They reveal the price the lower class pays for the luxuries of the upper class with the use of documentary, archives and comedy. This goes beyond class dichotomy and reflects on human relation ironies with the director’s unique sense of humor. Like the semi-documentary The Shock Doctrine, it reveals the director’s interests with composure. Comedian Brand face renowned contemporary businessman and politicians to raise a critical voice towards the fabrication of the world financial relief. This shows a world in which Winterbottom actively intervenes in realistic issues.
