How did the digital revolution change the film industry? Cinema Future tracks the changes that occur on all levels after celluloid film disappeared and digital technology shook the foundation of the film industry. This report thoroughly scrutinized the cinema history, raising controversial issues through extensive data, academic research, and interviews. Technological advancement is accepted while ironically the digital apocalypse destroys analog film memories. When immortality of digital cinema and hope for democracy resides on one side, the anxiety about cinema´s aura fading away coexists on the other side. Through opinions of renowned filmmakers such as Martin Scorsese, Apichatpong Weerasethakul, David Bordwell, Tom Gunning, Jacques Ranciere, museum curators, historians and engineers opinions intersects.
