Little Harbour is Monika Kompanikova’s work of fable that is dramatized from her other work, The Fifth Boat. Jarka spends hours, day after day, alone in an anxious existence; Jarka’s mother, Lucia, is not able to look after the house with an ill grandmother living there and decies to leave. Jarka goes to look for her, but then decides that she would have to be the mother of the left behind twins at a Bratislava train station. Little Harbour brings out the character’s longing for her parental love while learning to survive and overcome her world of loneliness. Together with her boyfriend, Christian, they then create an ark of protection. Iveta Grofova focuses on one’s growth through caring and being responsible for one another? winner of Berlin International Film Festival’s Crystal Bear Best Film. [JANG Byungwon]
