Peter returns to Rhode Island for his grandmother´s funeral after 15 years. Peter, a successful stockbroker, meets his friend Donald here. What Peter thought of a brief reunion with his friend Donald, turns into a nightmare when Peter is forced to face his uncomfortable past. Kris Avedisian´s debut film Donald Cried is a comedy about ´a man who had a past´. Their meeting provokes anxiety. Donald, who greets his old friend with a friendly face, turns two-faced and threatens Peter. Donald remained the same, when Peter had changed so much. Though they were once buddies now the difference is irreconcilable. What made them hostile? Peter tries to avoid the past and when Donald tries to catch up with his friend making anxiety swell up. Director Kris Avedisian himself plays the role of Donald and displays a remarkable performance. [JANG Byungwon]
