Serving in the military, Jooyong tries to report the physical assault that he has been getting from his senior officer to the cadre but fails. Jooyong and Phillip visits Jooyong’s brother-in-law, a dentist for Phillip’s broken teeth after being assaulted by the senior officer. When Jooyong’s brother-in-law shows a suspicious behavior with their unexpected visit, Jooyong assumes that his brother-in-law is assaulting his sister. Surrounded in violence Jooyong then starts to show signs of violent behaviors. The Seeds of Violence is about an ongoing physical assault in the military hierarchy and their abrupt ways trying to stop it. The configuration can be abstract yet it carries consistency of increasing tension that shines the writer’s talented skill. [Kim Youngjin]
