Jean-Pierre Werner is a doctor who has provided his medical service for 30 years in the rural town that does not have any medical institutions. One day, he visits his friend in Paris to receive a checkup on his illness. While performing a thorough medical examination, his doctor friend suggests Werner that he should look for a replacement. Werner does not like the idea because a new resident doctor from the city will have a hard time understanding the culture and environment of the countryside. In addition, he does not want to hand the health of his family-like village people that he took care of for 30 years to a complete stranger. Then, a female doctor who used to work as a nurse comes to the town. At first, the two go through many conflicts due to the cultural differences and stereotypes. However, during Werner’s stay in Paris, the female doctor handles a great deal of tasks. With various episodes that break the boundaries of generation and culture and the drama that emphasizes humanity, Irreplaceable tells a story on friendship, love, and trust that takes place in French countryside. Irreplaceable is a beautiful drama on the circle of life with a great chemistry between actors. (LEE Sang-yong)
