Review

National Human Rights Commission has produced diverse films. This film is significant as the last project of the Commission. Three talented Korean directors asks about the value of being in Korean society and presents cinematic pleasure. First episode is a story of a student who is punished to eat Ddeobokki or spicy rice cake. It shows the reality that random choice is impossible. Second episode is a story of a man in delusion and inner suppression. And the third episode is a story of an insurance salesperson who has a strange day. The three episodes show our everyday life. Each director goes deep into the reality and questions about human rights. Though characters in the film have more duties, they don’t have any freedom to enjoy their rights. Rather than focusing on a single subject, the film touches upon the issue of human rights broadly. (LEE Sang-yong)
