A story of moral dilemma. It is dull at first but gets more interesting with humors. When Costi is reading his son the story of Robin Hood at home, his neighbor, Adrian visits them. Adrian asks whether he can borrow some money but Costi can’t afford to it. Next day, Adrian returns saying that the money is for renting a metal detector to search for the treasure his dead grandmother left. As they search the treasure, situations get tangled. The film explores the link between personal interest and a sense of community in financially difficult Romania. It mixes extraordinary optimism with serious jokes. By utilizing his sense of black humor, the director creates a new style of fable. Winner of Un Certain Regard at Cannes 2015. (JANG Byungwon)
