Kostis is a doctor sent to the small island village of Antiparos. Daily life is peaceful but uneventful. Kostis treats and hangs out with a group of teenagers that are on vacation. He sunbathes on the beach during the day and indulges in parties at night and falls in love with a girl called Anna. Suntan depicts the destruction of a man drunk on fresh bodies, youth and vitality under a scorching sun. Spellbound by beauty, Kostis falls as if in a Greek tragedy. Argyris Papadimitropoulos is a promising Greek director like Giorgos Lanthimos and Athina Rachel Tsangari and is the director of Wasted Youth which was introduced at the 2015 Greek New Wave program. Syllas Tzoumerkas, the director of A Blast co-wrote the script and is a supporting actor while Christos Karamanis of Chevalier is the cinematographer. (JANG Byungwon)
