Review

An assistant on a film, Ana gets scolded when she arrived with the lead actress late. Tired with stress, Ana quits her job and goes to her grandmother’s in Strasbourg. While taking care of her ill grandmother, Ana happens to sleep with her friend Simon. While remodeling the bathroom, she gets tangled with a worker Gregory, and meets her exboyfriend Boris. Still she finds nowhere to settle down. The film seems nothing to do with the title, a famous German spa town. The name Ana also appears in the director’s two short films. This film illustrates a portrait of a free-spirited woman without any political attempt. By combining comedy and drama, it depicts a woman’s life free from conventional sexuality, gender, and norms.
