Overview

This year marks the 10th anniversary of ‘Jeonju Project Market(JPM)’. JPM is an industry program established in 2009 to strengthen Jeonju International Film Festival’s ties with the Korean film industry and expand its role as a film festival. JPM aims to discover and give practical support to the production of original theatrical films and documentary projects. Starting this year, JPM will further enhance its framework supporting outstanding Korean and foreign projects to be planned and produced.

Features and Changes in Jeonju Project Market

  • Jeonju Cinema Fund(JCF) Promotion
    Jeonju Cinema Fund(JCF)’ is a project development fund established to discover and support various new projects. The fund selects around 10 projects annually and this year 6 projects are selected including 3 theatrical films and 3 documentaries. Total 60 million Korean won will be provided.

    Selected projects are to be developed for 4 months and introduced to the Korean film industry via ‘JCF Promotion’ event on Sunday, May 6th, 2018. The event is followed by ‘Networking Hour’ where participants may engage in in-depth discussions on future production, investment and distribution. 1 final selected JCF project, if any, is given support as ‘Jeonju Cinema Project’ with a grant of around 100 million Korean won production investment. Awards by category and selected project for ‘Jeonju Cinema Project’ will be announced at JPM Awards on Tuesday, May 8th, 2018

  • JCP: NEXT EDITION
    ‘JCP: NEXT EDITION’ is a new program launched in celebration of the 10th anniversary of Jeonju Project Market(JPM). It is a project pitching event to select a international project for ‘Jeonju Cinema Project 2019.’ With a well-organized system open for all, primary selection of applicants was conducted and pre-selected applicants will pitch their projects. 1 final project will be selected as ‘Jeonju Cinema Project 2019’ and receive a production investment of approximately 100 million KRW. The final contestant will be announced at JPM Awards on Tuesday, May 8th, 2018.

    This year seminar focuses on filmmakers. The theme is . The seminar will seek ways to enter international film festivals and look over Korea’s distribution structure along with actual case studies.

    Starting this year, JPM will further enhance its framework supporting outstanding Korean and International projects to be developed and produced. To celebrate 10th anniversary of JPM, 10th JPM’s Night will be held on May, 6th.

    JCF Promotion and JCP: NEXT EDITION are followed by ‘Networking Hour’ where participants may engage in in-depth discussions on future production, investment and distribution on Sunday, May 6th and Monday, May 7th.

    The announcement of the final funding amount for JCF projects and awards by category including 1 project selected as ‘JCP 2019’ if any, will be presented at JPM Awards Ceremony. Also final selection for ‘JCP: NEXT EDITION’ will be announced as well.
