Review

This is not a super 8mm film, but a digital film. It is a silent letter composed of three shorts. Like and , Rousseau has a contact with the world through a window that opens the boundary of the inside and the outside, and no message has been written. Rousseau sitting on a bed, Rousseau in front of a letter, and the cityscape of Torino from the window... These three simple images have a secret that cannot be put in words. The cold and solitary image where the light and colour of Vermeer´s painting juxtapose to the space of Hooper´s panting represents the relation between an individual and the world where a communication is possible only by limitation of frames and directions. Rousseau summarizes the story of this film by saying, "I should have checked out of the room. Everything is delayed, and I may have to stay one more night." The strange, unstable, and solitary feeling of the person who leaves the city may have led him to write a letter to the guy named Roberto. A part of an aerial view of Torino city is maybe the content of the letter. It is the letter with more messages than any other letters. The methodology of putting the most with the least is to show it as it is. The image of time in the eyes of living people resembles the act of endless gazing, which produces all delays. The letter, which is not posted, has been already written.
