Review

The Band was a Canadian-American group, who made mark on country rock history. From their debut album Music from Big Pink (1968) to their final concert stage recording, The Last Waltz (1976), their albums were very well received and influenced many musicians. Bob DYLAN hired them to play as a backing band, which helped them gain a reputation. Their debut album more than a success. Eric CLAPTON cited them as major influence and credited Music from Big Pink influenced his decision to leave his band, Cream. But there were many issues surrounding The Band, leading its members to leave. Their last concert footage was made into a documentary film by Martin SCORSESE. The rise and fall of the legendary band is recounted by the leader of The Band, Robbie ROBERTSON. [CHUN Jinsu]
