Nona. If they soak me, I’ll burn them.
After taking vengeance on her former lover, 66-year-old Nona arrives at a small coastal village in Chile. The quiet village is disturbed with a series of arson attacks ever since she has arrived. The film is based on an true story of the director’s anarchist grandmother, Josefina RAMIREZ. The mundane yet rough images make the film more realistic, and Nona’s unafraid and unscathed attitude in front of the camera blurs the line between reality and fiction, ushering the audiences to follow its mysterious plots. As Nona passed away early this year, the film has become a love song to remember the gray guerilla who lived relentlessly against the dictatorship of PINOCHET.
