Review

Everything starts when Manmyong, an old bachelor saves a woman from Seonnyodam fall. She looks like his mother who killed herself in that fall years ago. Village elders thought this ominous. Especially, the village master regarded her as the reincarnation of his mother who was raped by him and killed herself. Depicting the fate of subjects killed by the lust of rulers, Director Ha inserted the elements of traditional performing arts, resulting in the whole event, becoming a sad sacrificial rite. This might be his way of rebellion against powers. [KIM Youngjin]
