Review

This film is a historical documentary about underground structures in Korea, Japan and Taiwan. The camera begins with left-off station of Sinseol-dong and explores coal mines in Sabuk, treating the workers’ struggle during the Korean industrialization. The film also ruminates on perpetrators and victims in the structures during the World War Ⅱ in Taiwan and Japan. As the recent image is overlaid by the past voices, historical memories are recalled in the film. The film attracts the landscape of underground structures as a medium of the present and past.
