Review

In 1992, Kim Bok-dong reported herself as a victim of "comfort women" for Japanese soldiers. All she wanted was to receive an apology from Japan. The Japanese government, however, avoided the responsibility. In 2011, the Statue of Peace was installed in front of Embassy of Japan in commemoration of the 1,000th Wednesday Demonstration. Grandmothers’ demonstration marked a new epoch. Kim Bok-dong left for Seoul to join the last battle against the Japanese government. This film sheds a light on the life of Kim Bok-dong, a sensible and benign senior. [KIM Youngjin]
