The Quietude

Director_ Pablo TRAPERO

Argentina 2018 112min DCP color feature Fiction
Review

Director Pablo Trapero captures the subtle moments of three women, mothers and daughters including his wife who is an actress in this film. Eugenia returns to her family as her father has a stroke, but her mother and sister are still not free from the past trauma. The father in vegetative state and the suffering women around him are metaphors of the Argentina’s military dictatorship and confrontation to the pain of living. This film is a family history told in the voice of women following the director’s previous film Clan (2015). [LEE Sang-yong]
