Kamagasaki is an "invisible" slum which attracted day laborers and prostitutes since World War II. As developers move in, the local authorities team up with a gang and harass the residents to get rid of the slum. A boy, Kantaro, moves in with a prostitute and a pickpocket. He picks up the gang´s treasured giant cauldron that used to feed the destitute: The symbol of Kamagasaki.
