Review

A dying body of someone is rotting, and other family members who need to take care of that person calculate their respective interests that they will have after he or she finally dies. A retired civil servant Chang-sik’s wife Gilsoon has suffered from a cerebral hemorrhage. When her caretaker Soo-ok, a Korean Chinese, said that she’d quit the job to get married because of her visa problem, Chang-sik suggests Soo-ok to marry him. Chang-sik's children are concerned about the economic disadvantages they might have due to their father's decision. A Bedsore depicts the skiagram of the corrupt desires of the remaining family members. Most people in the film smell of rotten flesh just as a bedsore does. Nevertheless, the film has the power to affirm that it is inevitable for survival, so that it can't just be despised. [KIM Youngjin]
