Review

Ohong is a small fishing village in the southern Taiwan. The village is busy preparing for the carnival. Then, Sheng who has once left this village returns. As he meets his family and friends, he comes to realize the changed and the unchanged. While his persistent father farms oysters for his entire life, his envious friends welcome his glorious return but still with green eyes. At the same time, the film shows the view of Ohong Village undergoing a change. This reflects the director’s own story. Lim Lungyin made his first feature film while studying film in Czech Republic. He elegantly captures the images of people and the impressive landscape of the fishing village using his own style influenced by Taiwanese master directors. [LEE Sang-yong]
