DIRECTOR
PARK Jungbum
As he released The Journals Of Musan (2010), Park Jungbum became a major director of the new generation. This film foretold the rise of a young director as it won numerous prizes in film festivals including Busan and Rotterdam. The Journals Of Musan addresses the life of the North Korean defector Jeon Seung-chul who was the protagonist of Park’s previous film 125 JEON Seung-Chul (2008). In the film, the director plays the lead role of Jeon, a real person in history. Park first bonded with Jeonju IFF through the short film production project "Shot! Shot! Shot!" for which he made One Week (2012). He also created Alive (2014) when the Jeonju Digital Project switched over to the feature length Jeonju Cinema Project. Park’s Height of the Wave was introduced as a part of a TV series project, and will be screened at this year’s festival in the newly edited version for the first time.
